NCCS honors Ogichidaa
The students of the Naytahwaush Community Charter School honored and celebrated local veterans in November by inviting them to a program of songs, poems, tributes, and gifts. The walls were decorated with paper soldiers made by the students. These were offered to the veterans and are currently displayed at the Veterans Memorial Building in Mahnomen. The program was followed by a delicious meal with the children. The children's efforts were very appreciated by the veterans.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet who
has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial, and
it is the soldier----who salutes the flag, who serves the flag and whose coffin is draped by the flag-----who
allows the protester to burn the flag.

Welcome Home
We served. We suffered and 69 thousand of us died. We did our duty like the veterans of every war before us and those that have come after. This wall, scarred with the names of our fallen, remembers them so well with a dignified silence. Thank you for your service, our brothers. Thank you, and Welcome Home!
Remember our Warriors who have served and continue to serve.
